Dans cette publication, les artistes utilisent la traduction comme forme (ou méthode) pour mieux comprendre ce que l'internet veut vraiment nous dire. Ils s'inspirent de l'essai de Walter Benjamin intitulé « La tâche du traducteur », dans lequel il montre comment une traduction peut vous faire couler. Elle amène le sujet de la traduction ici et maintenant (à un endroit où il peut encore bouger). Et le lecteur se rapproche du royaume de la langue pure.
Pour ce projet, le philosophe Gijsbert van der Heijden a été invité à donner un aperçu de l'essai de Walter Benjamin, et l'artiste Bobbi Oskam a été invité à réaliser cette traduction visuelle.
In this publication the artists use translation as form (or method) to get a bigger understanding of what the internet really wants to say to us. Inspiration is found in the essay of Walter Benjamin 'The task of the translator', where he shows how a translation can make you flow. It brings the subject of translation in the here and now (at a place where it can still move). And the reader closer to the realm of pure language.
For this project philosopher Gijsbert van der Heijden was invited to give an insight in Walter Benjamin's essay, and artist Bobbi Oskam was invited to make this visual translation.
