Le Papier peint Revolution is not a Pic Nic a été produit à l'occasion de l'exposition collective éponyme qui s'est déroulée du 16 mars au 3 avril 2005 à LENDROIT.
The painted paper Revolution is not a Pic Nic was published on the occasion of the collective exhibition eponym which took place from March 16th to April 3, 2005, at LENDROIT.
The idea of this exhibition came up after Mathieu Renard watched a documentary in which Yasser Arafat yelled: "Revolution is not a picnic". Inspired by this unique vision of 40 years of political struggle and by the graffiti and other committed slogans on Palestinian walls that we could see throughout the documentary, Mathieu Renard invited 8 artists to think with him about the use of the wall as a vector for direct and spontaneous expression and that allow ideas -ofter more dissenting- to be seen. The only constraint imposed on the artists was the obligation to use the wall as the support.
There is nothing surprising in the fact that the edition that results from this project is in the form of a wallpaper decorated with the visuals of pieces presented in the gallery. This edition, extension of the exhibition, is the palpable and lasting brand that the purchaser will have free use of.
