Jet Lag 41 - Calendos
Gwenn Mérel
épuisé • sold out
Calendos presents twenty-four lunar phases, that are both familiar and intriguing. They look like a lunar calendar and a simple pie chart at the same time.
Gwenn Mérel tries to recreate the emotion produced by the passing encounters of the world and to give material form to the charm of elusive moments. She records, filters and transmits what is poetic in everyday life. Her work veers between the sublimation of delicate phenomena and an inquiry into the relationship between man and magnificent places. She is a discreet observer and contemplates the world while remaining on the sideline and uses art installations, video, slide projections, drawings and sculpture as a way to capture the “almost nothingness”.
But these contemplative actions go beyond the mere observation of phenomena and underline the lack of intention caused by habit and the daily obligation of productivity.
